Our chosen Life Path Lessons

On a soul level we all chose a particular Life Experience in which to grow towards evolution. Many Numerologists, including myself, believe this to be a purposeful soul choice. Thus from such a perspective the likelihood of any individual being born into random circumstances is literally dismissed. Numerology reveals to us our soul choice, and when reflecting upon the ‘meaning and adversities’ of our life we can generally relate to the perfection of our Life Path Number very strongly.

Basic Numerology (such as the Numerology we may read in women’s magazines) can be a little limiting in explanation. In order to investigate Soul Purpose and Soul Truth it is necessary to approach Numerology from a deeper viewpoint.

To begin we must first arrive at our individual Life Path Number. To do so we add the total of the Date of Birth. There are many methods of Numerology – however through much practical experimentation on thousands of personal and professional individuals – it is my humble opinion that the Pythagoras method is by far the most accurate.

In order to perform the Life Path Number calculation the Date of Birth is written in full. Therefore the year must be written completely. Keep in mind that deep Soul Knowledge Numerology – (which essentially is tracking the Soul Purpose and Evolution Journey) – information is taken from the individual’s first ever Birth Certificate. This is literal. Even if there was a misprint on the Birth Certificate – this misprint is deemed as ‘universally meant to be’ and used in the assessment. Practical application has completely validated this truth. It is uncanny how an individual can’t relate to their personal information if it didn’t actually appear on their first ever printed Birth Certificate.

When using the Pythagorean method the Birth Date is calculated as follows:

You will notice that the Day, Month and Year numbers are always added separately, and then these additions are reduced to a single digit. Once having achieved this the single digit numbers (the essence numbers) are added together to arrive at the Life Path Number.

Therefore:

You may wonder why this calculation has been written as nine over nine. In Numerology we always write the essential numbers (such as the Life Path Number) as compound number over essence number.

This ‘9’ is the Compound Number i.e. the addition of the essence numbers from the Day, Month and Year.This ‘9’ is the Essence Number i.e. the addition of the Life Path Compound Number (the Number above) reduced to a single figure. Therefore 9+0=9

It would seem that all figures are reduced to a single figure; however, this is not always the case. There is an exception to the rule. This occurs when calculations reach ‘11’ or ‘22’. In Numerological terms the numbers 11 and 22 are Master Numbers and are treated as essence numbers (pure numbers) in their own right. Therefore they are not reduced to ‘2’ and ‘4’ respectively.

Therefore to calculate this Life Path Number:

When you have calculated your Life Path Number correctly it can only arrive at the numbers 1 to 9 or 11 or 22. (Remembering that a calculation reaching 11 or 22 is not reduced any further.)

Our Life Path Number is essentially a very important aspect of our Soul Journey, as it describes what we are here to accomplish this lifetime. Many other areas of the Numerology profile will grant breakthrough information and tailor the Life Path information specifically but for now we can reflect on the more generalised aspects of the Main Soul Lesson.

The intelligence of the soul and its connection to the chosen environment is astounding. The soul actually draws circumstances towards itself in order to grow, heal and evolve. This in a nutshell is what our Life Path Number is about. It represents the soul’s choice of environment, individuals, situations and events in order to reflect the inner reality with the outer occurrences. The more conscious we become therefore working with the opportunities of our Life Path Number the more capable we are of creating harmony and progress in our life. Conversely if we are living unconsciously we will continually attract the adversities of our Life Path Number. This occurs simply because we aren’t listening. I like to term these adversities as ‘signposts’ granting us the necessary discomfort to point the way to get back on track. Ultimately if we don’t wake up and start to become conscious the ‘signposts’ eventually become ‘billboards’ in order to hopefully disrupt us enough to make the necessary changes.

Many individuals unfortunately have to ‘crash and burn’ before they become conscious and realise the perfection of their life. Numerology helps us understand (and accept) that the soul is truly relentless. It has an agenda, and it really doesn’t want to waste time. Evolution is the soul’s goal, and by creating calamities and difficulties the soul produces all the necessary ingredients to produce humility and true inner connection and empowerment.

This state is known as authentic living, and it is the state where life magically starts going right. Therefore on a soul level the difficulties of life are indeed perfect gifts. On a human level this may seem totally unfair. Oh how wonderful it would be to cruise along in life, not listen to our inner impulses and go against our gut instincts and do it all our own way through stubbornness and ego! That way we could truly suit ourselves! The reality is, however, that this wasn’t what we chose or wanted before we came into this life. The real reason this attitude won’t serve us is: such a life cannot and will not supply abundance, happiness, love and expansion. It is only via getting on track with Soul Purpose (our Life Path Number) that these glorious dividends are possible.

From this understanding we can truly realise the genius in the perfection. Anything less than Soul Truth brings discomfit in order to move us back to the path of comfort. This analogy can be likened to walking down the street with a rough pebble in your shoe. Hopefully we would stop to take it out because it was too painful to continue walking. Soul Truth operates is an identical fashion. It creates different degrees of pain to make it unpleasant and finally agony to continue on a particular path that is not aligned with Soul Truth. Through Numerological study we can suddenly realise how logical and simple the soul’s agenda and our physical life is! We can also acknowledge how often we complicate our lives simply by not listening and making the necessary adjustments.

In order to gain a little insight into the theme of the respective Life Path Numbers, the simplified meanings are as follows:

Life Path 1 - Leadership, Independence.
Life Path 2 - Co-operation, Team play
Life Path 3 - Joyfulness, Creativity
Life Path 4 - Structure, Effort, Order
Life Path 5 - Variety, Expansion
Life Path 6 - Giving and Receiving Love
Life Path 7 - Deep Spiritual Inner Knowledge
Life Path 8 - Material Expression
Life Path 9 - Humanitarian Endeavours
Life Path 11 - Channeling Divine Messages (The Medium)
Life Path 22 - Producing Large Projects to Benefit Mankind.

Contemporary Numerology can grant useful information yet may not grant the key pertaining to how to achieve our Life Path Journey. There are usually adjustments necessary in order to heal and grow towards this goal. It would be very naïve to assume that a Life Path Number 1 is automatically independent and a leader, or that a Life Path Number 7 is naturally undertaking a spiritual and philosophical existence. It is logical to realise that it is highly unlikely that every individual is walking his or her Life Path Journey correctly – in fact the opposite is often true. Many individuals are still unconscious and may well be struggling with their Life Path Number Lesson. What is true, however, is that every Life Path Number 1 person will desire to be a leader and independent and will have experienced lessons to do with Leadership and Independence as produced by the individuals and circumstances that have gravitated into their life. The same principle applies for every Life Path Number. The free will (ego inclinations) of the individual will dictate how well these lessons have been applied.

The soul in its infinite wisdom knows how to continually create the conditions to assist the achievement of the Life Lesson. Within this creation some additional ingredients may be required in regard to Past Life Karmic Conditions. There are many individuals who have significant Karmic Debts to balance from past lifetimes (this has been a predominant feature in my life), and in such circumstances the situations and events that the soul draws towards itself may not always be perceived through our human eyes as perfect – even though on soul level they are.

For example a Life Path Number 2 individual who has entered this lifetime with a Past Life History of uncooperative behaviour may have on a soul level specifically chosen un-cooperative parents (often one’s that divorce) and may attract many power plays into their own life. Unless conscious choices are made towards sensitivity and team play this individual may undergo many disasters such as separations, ‘me versus you’ conflicts and total loss of unity in their life (divorces, losses of career position etc.). Such a person will be required to assume humility, openness, consideration and co-operation in order for them to resurrect their Soul Truth. If they don’t the ‘billboard’ - “Being uncooperative causes much pain to self and others” - will keep playing out in their life. If they employ the true expression of their Life Path Number with diligence and consistency (remembering that these attributes are difficult for their ego self) they can then - and only then - experience the pure joy of teamwork, trust, deep connected love and the glorious rewards of supporting self and others. This is what their soul (the true self) is striving to achieve.

The Numerologist may also come across an individual who is a Life Path Number 2 who is operating in the other extreme of the energy. Such a person may be over-cooperative. This individual may be people pleasing, fanatically concerned with what other people think, ultra sensitive and failing to set boundaries. It will be likely that this person feels much resentment because they allow other individuals to constantly dictate their life. Much discomfort will be experienced in every area of life until the individual becomes conscious, works on their personal power and self deservedness issues to a level where they can move back to the correct balance of their 2 Life Path – because ultimately the 2 Life Path Number is about ‘equality and unity.’

It must be remembered that everyone’s Life Blueprint is unique and many areas of the Numerology Profile must be taken into consideration to evaluate the Soul’s Journey correctly. Each case is spectacularly unique. To get a good general feel of how your Life Path Lesson is operating - have a think about the keywords of your Life Path Number. Ask yourself “Am I operating in the under expression (not enough of), the over expression (too much of) or the balance of this energy?” To give an example a Life Path 4 individual who is operating in the under expression (not enough of) will be lazy, undisciplined and unstructured. At the other end of the scale a Life Path 4 person who is operating in the over expression (too much of) will tend to over-work be obsessively structured and can be quite set and stubborn in their ways.

It is usual for all individuals to operate in the over and under expressions of their Life Path Number from time to time no matter how evolved we profess to be! This is perfectly normal, as life is a never-ending glorious process of self-work and growth within every moment of every day.
