So many people ask this question – and
wonder if they really are psychic. Technically and scientifically
all of us have right brain function which is known to be sensory
and responsible for feelings and knowingness that may or may
not be logically defined.
In truth the question should be “Am I aware of my psychic
ability?” – rather than “Am I psychic?”
Barely a day goes past without us being consciously aware
of our right brain functions. For example we walk into a business
meeting, home, supermarket or café and immediately pick
up vibes. We may feel uneasy without having any logical explanation
why. A person standing in front of us or next to us may feel
menacing or simply uncomfortable to be around, even if
they haven’t looked at us or spoken a word. Is it simply
their appearance? Many people would rationalise that it is.
Or maybe it is just a feeling – something that
we can’t quite pinpoint – yet is definitely present
nevertheless. Yet we have no knowledge of this individual, their
circumstances or their intentions.
And how often have we out of the blue thought about someone
that we haven’t thought about for a long time, only to
be amazed that they ring us the next day – or we bump
into them down the street – or someone else we know brings
them up in a conversation. Coincidence – we often think
– but when situations like this constantly occur –
is it really?
And how often have we driven down the road, had a cold or tense
feeling and then seen a police car on the side of the road or
following us? And what about that time you left your house and
all of a sudden a thought popped in your head that you’d
left that vital package inside – just as you were about
to drive off without it?
The above examples are normal everyday situations that all
people experience- yet if not rationalised as coincidence
– really cannot be explained away. At a hazardous guess
there would not be one human being that hasn’t experienced
some form of paranormal event. Quite possibly many of these
events would have been much more profound than the mundane examples
described above. So why do we doubt our own psychic-ness? The
biggest issue is trust and letting go of the need for
physical proof. Many people believe that being psychic is ‘bells
and whistles’ - clearly hearing audible voices, having
grand prophetic dreams, reading people’s minds and seeing
spirit clearly. For some psychics this may be the case, yet
it is a rare individual who could operate at any such levels
without much dedicated training. For the majority of individuals
being psychic is subtle and begins at a level of feeling and
knowingness about situations, people and events. Yet if individuals
are not prepared to believe that these could be psychic insights
– these events may be ignored or explained away.
Being psychic is no different to anything else – if it
is not nurtured and encouraged or given energy in any way it
will wither and become insignificant. This is true, unless
a rare individual is rampantly psychic whether they like it
or not. Generally people aren’t and unfortunately don’t
tune in to their inherent sensory gifts. People that believe
they can have a sense of psychicness open up and allow the experience,
and take note of it – therefore granting this gifted life.
By doing so they grow towards becoming more and more psychic.
Because being psychic is an inherent and natural part
of ourselves, another major psychic myth can be dispelled. We
do not need to be in a particular state in order to be
psychic. We do not have to have meditated for half an hour,
sit under a pyramid, or even be in a quiet undisturbed space.
We can quite literally be psychic whilst we are cooking tea
and at the same time be talking on the phone with the television
going in the background. All we need to do is acknowledge that
we are psychic, and believe that this is a natural part of our
existence every second of every day.
It certainly isn’t applicable to hone into everything
- trying to see the hidden psychic meaning behind every
occurrence – because if you did you would literally drive
yourself and everyone else crazy. How about being flowingly
psychic? It would be much more peaceful and empowering to simply
be open to knowingness and deeper understandings. And it is
much more applicable to allow these understandings to occur
when they are necessary – which is usually of their own
accord. Many people ask “How do I do this?” The
answer is simple – first know that whatever you
believe is your reality. If you trust and know that you are
psychic - and will receive the insights that are necessary –
you will. It is as simple as that. It is impossible to make
yourself ‘do psychic’ – what is relevant is
for you to open up, trust and ‘be psychic.’
Another myth of being psychic is that we are open to
all forms of spirit attack and danger when we are operating
in a psychic fashion. The fact of the matter is that we are
always operating in a psychic fashion – it is just
that we aren’t often aware of it. Therefore to constantly
be protecting ourselves would be ridiculous – and would
seriously detract from the flow of being open and receptive.
Having said so it definitely is applicable to be aware of energy
– meaning at times when doing specific psychic work
– such as healing and readings (when we are purposely
contacting spirit) - protection is applicable. It also must
be remembered that ‘like attracts like.’ If we are
operating in love and loving intentions we can only attract
spirits that operate in the light. Likewise if we are operating
from fear and fear based projections we will always attract
lower level spirit. From my experience light workers do not
have a fear of psychic attack and I have never seen any one
of them suffer as a result of such a stance, whereas individuals
who constantly fear psychic attack often display negative
manifestations that are symptomatic of psychic attack.
To live a life of psychic-ness is to walk through a door into
a meadow which smells of the most beautiful aromas and displays
colours brighter than you have ever seen. And when we look at
the logic of humans predominantly using only one side of their
brain, we could be forgiven for thinking that many people only
live half a life. Like a V8 that is running on 4 cylinders,
we may be travelling at limited potential.
When we are living a psychic existence it means so much more
than seeing spirit, hearing voices, seeing plane crashes before
they appear in the morning paper– or heaven forbid knowing
the tattslotto numbers! What it really means is that we experience
a much greater depth to life and purpose of being. We all of
a sudden know so much more than we did. We feel a sense
of peace, togetherness and flow that we never knew existed.
We start listening to ourselves instead of getting down
the track and kicking ourselves because we didn’t honour
our gut. We also see a much bigger picture and a perfect sequence
behind individuals and events – and stop judging them
based on surface evidence. We begin to open up, blossom
and express the better parts of our humility and acceptance,
and we grow more in love with life, ourselves and others.
So stop wondering if you are psychic – and know that you
are!!!
If you are reading this article it is time to reclaim this inherent
part of yourself……
