The Tarot was said to be a method of conveying inner knowledge, the ability to bring into the conscious knowing the deeper mysteries of life. These methods of conveying inner wisdom by the use of symbols either abstract or in picture form have been used throughout history extensively. Such examples are Maya and Pythagoras.

The excitement begins when we start to understand the magic of the Tarot unveiling. The archetype (an image that is Universal and existent in all people in all cultures at all periods of history) experience unlocks a fascinating personal journey. Not unlike the ‘magic eye’ pictures that present a wondrous ‘behind the scene’ world.

The Tarot allows us to step beyond conscious recognition, where we can enter into ourselves more deeply than we ever thought possible, and hold, recognize and deeply understand a truth and direction that has always previously eluded us.

As if for the first time, we understand who we are, the connection between inner and outer worlds, and a deep understanding of the world around us. This creativity and inspiration of the unconscious enriches our life. It grants the firm foundation, structure, empowerment and assuredness to create our outer reality in a way that ‘serves who we are, what we want and what we need.’

Tarot, interestingly enough is quite scientific and logical! As with all energy of a physical world, Tarot operates under the law of cause and effect, the Jung theory that there “is no such thing as coincidence.” Therefore the outcome of cards and how they fall is a direct result of our own sub-conscious energy.

In our Modern Day Society, Tarot is now a powerful and popular ‘draw card’ (pardon the pun!) Nearly everyone has heard of a Tarot Reading. Tarot is a very well-known mainstream tool for accessing the mysteries of life. It is totally amazing how many people want a Tarot Reading! I can assure you as every day goes by this percentage of people is becoming more and more prolific.

It fascinated me, when not so long ago, whilst camping with a girl friend, people who appeared to be simple country folk (the type of people that I would least have expected to want a reading), had heard that I had my cards with me and promptly begged for readings. I found that much of my “holiday” was spent reading and counseling singles and couples throughout the Caravan Park!

Tarot has the incredible magic of placing a ‘third party’ between you and your seeker (the individual seeking answers.) Because of this buffer the guidance and advice is so much less confrontational and is usually able to be integrated with ease.

Many contemporary Professional Counsellors who have had spiritual inclinations, and have undertaken Tarot, have marvelled in this reality! By using the Tarot they have discovered that family and friends, as well as clients in some cases, have opened up and ‘owned their stuff’ much more easily with the Tarot than without it. In fact such Professionals have admitted that since using Tarot have had deep personal conversations with family members about issues that they had never known, before using the Tarot Cards.

Tarot is also decorative and visual. Seekers like to see some physical evidence of what is taking place in a healing message. Tarot is much more commonly sought than healing which does not involve such visual tools. Many individuals who come for a Tarot Reading expect information about past, present and future. And yes they can receive this! However the true healing capacity of Tarot is to unveil their strengths and weaknesses, and application to living that is creating their outer reality. Only then can the seeker truly understand where they have come from, why they are here, and why there are still challenges and difficulties in their life. Then finally they are empowered with understanding how to re-create the life that they want. Because of the third party element of Tarot and the true genuine intent of a healing reader, they are able to examine their life without judgment, without resistance, and simply with awareness.

By having a trained, structured skill in Tarot, many other areas of spirituality can be integrated. I also work with other facets such as Numerology, Palmistry, Eastern and Chinese Astrology as a combination with Tarot. This grants an enormous reservoir of knowledge and healing. But I know that my clients want to come to receive a Tarot Reading.

Tarot is fascinating, miraculous, and never ceases to provide occurrences that on a human level seem too ‘incredible to dare to believe’. Every week the cards show me a connection and a language that is so accurate, so incredibly specific and so intelligent that I am continually in awe! My Tarot Cards are my personal teacher, and one of my best friends. They are as much a part of me now as my external limbs! They represent the wisdom of them and myself as being one. By having found the ‘teacher within’ I can now share the knowledge of teaching and healing with others, granting them the tools and abilities to do the same. Through the beauty and wonder of Tarot we can create a ripple effect that can bring the complexities of life to a much deeper and clearer understanding.

By doing so we are contributing to global healing. We are able to make a difference and leave this world a better place than it was before we arrived! This shift of consciousness is being created through many pockets of the world, and as a contributor I cannot describe how wonderful it feels!
